Configure Additional Costs Settings To Make It Easy For Sales Reps To Finalize Quotes

Default Additional Costs
Additional Costs For Custom Products
PRO Tip: The goal is to match all additional costs found in the Package Details section of your products. These are all items that can't be determined in the instant quote.
Instructions:
- To start, login to your portal and go to the Settings tab.
- Choose General from the menu.
- Select the Quotes tab.
- Select Additional Cost from the Feature dropdown menu.
Set Up Default Additional Cost Items
Toggle each default Additional Cost question off/on and add a Per Sq or Fixed price charge. A preview of the Additional Cost form is displayed on the right.
Multi-Story Charge
Q: How many stories above ground is the roof?
- Some installers charge more for properties that are multiple stories. Currently, the instant quote does not determine how many stories the roofs are above ground. To factor this into your quotes, add the cost for 2-stories roofs and roofs that are 3+ stories.
- If your typical project is much higher, you can create a custom additional cost question.
Layers
Q: How many layers will need to be removed?
- The instant quote is for a single-layer tear off.
- Currently, the instant quote tool cannot see underneath the top layer to determine if the roof has multiple layers. Add the cost for each extra layer of roofing which need removal below the top one.
Chimney/Skylight
Q: How many chimneys/skylights need new flashing?
- Chimneys and skylights require extra flashing materials and labor. Currently the instant quote doesn't determine the amount of penetrations on each roof.
- Add the cost for flashing 1 Chimney, 2 Chimneys, and 3+ Chimneys
- Add the cost for flashing 1 Skylight, 2 Skylights, and 3+ Skylights
- Residential roofs typically do not have more than 3 chimneys/skylights
Roof Condition
Q: Current roof condition. Please check all that apply.
- Add costs for any conditional item that require additional materials and labor
- Some items, such as Algae Stains, Hail Damage, Wind Damage, and Missing Shingles don't typically require an additional cost but are good to take note of for the homeowner and your production team
- Some items, such as Roof Leaks, Sagging, and Structural Damage may require on-site inspection
Roof Type
Q: Current roof type.
- Removal of existing roofing material may require additional labor costs. Currently the instant quote does not recognize the existing roof type.
- Add the cost for removing each type of roofing material.
NOTE: Asphalt-shingle is the assumed existing roof type for instant quotes, so it's recommended to keep this set to $0
New Decking
Q: Does roof need new decking?
- Replacing decking requires extra material and labor. Currently the instant quote tool cannot see underneath the top layer to determine if the roof needs new decking.
- Add the cost for replacing decking by sheet or for the entire roof (per sq).
Difficult Access
Q: Is the project easily accessible?
- There is typically an extra cost for labor if roof is difficult to access or dumpster cannot be placed close.
- Currently the instant quote doesn't determine how accessible the roof is for crews. Add the cost for roof inaccessibility.
Include Additional Costs For Custom Products
NOTE: By default, Additional Costs are included in all products from the ROOFLE Catalog, but are not included in Custom Products from My Catalog
To turn on Additional Costs for custom products:
- Go to the Settings icon.
- Choose Products from the menu.
- Underneath your Selected Products, choose the product you want to Customize.
- On the right side, find and turn on 'Include Additional Costs' to include Additional Cost computed in Rep Quotes to the product's price.
- Click Save Changes.
